Dining Table & Chair Sets
Why choose a dining set?
Choosing your table and chairs together makes it easier to create a dining space that feels naturally coordinated. The proportions have already been considered, from the height of the seating to the way the chairs sit alongside and underneath the tabletop.
It also means colours, materials and finishes have been chosen to complement one another, giving you a beautifully cohesive starting point for the rest of your room.
If you’d rather create your own combination, our dining tables and dining chairs can be mixed and matched to suit your space and personal style. Coordinated settings feature throughout the Houghton and Austin ranges, while the Lindell corner dining set is a lovely example of how a corner arrangement can create generous family seating while making clever use of the available floor space.
Finding the right size
Before choosing your dining set, it’s worth thinking about how many places you need day to day, as well as those occasions when an extra person might join you around the table.
As a general guide, allowing around 60cm of table edge per person gives everyone comfortable dining space. If your room allows, choosing a table with space for an additional place or two can also give you a little more flexibility when family and friends visit.
Seat height matters too. A dining chair with a seat height of around 45–47cm will generally work comfortably with a standard dining table of approximately 75cm high, leaving enough room beneath for comfortable seating. With a coordinated set, those proportions have already been considered for you.

Coordinating, but still your own
Choosing a dining set doesn’t mean every element of the room has to match. Think of it as a beautifully coordinated starting point that you can make your own with different textures, finishes and seating styles.
Carver chairs at either end of the table can add a little extra presence, while a dining bench along one side creates a more relaxed, sociable feel. Even small changes can give your dining setting a more individual look while keeping everything connected.
You can carry the same materials and tones through the rest of the room too, whether that’s picking up the timber of your table in a sideboard or echoing darker metal details elsewhere in the space.
