Display Cabinets

Glazed or open display
The first decision is whether you want glass in front of your collection. Glazed cabinets, such as the Inspiration single door and two door designs, frame what's inside and keep it clean, which makes them the natural choice for glassware, china and anything delicate. Daventry's glazed design does the same in a more traditional register.
Open display units take the opposite approach, letting objects sit in the room rather than behind a pane. Eclipse, Canyon, Ingot and Montrose all offer open designs, and they suit a more relaxed, layered look where the shelves hold a mix of books, ceramics and plants. If open shelving is really what you're after, it's worth comparing bookcases and shelves too.
Lighting and finishes
Integrated lighting changes how a cabinet behaves after dark, lifting the contents and giving the room a softer secondary light source. The Falmer range is available in misty oak or stone grey, with or without LED lighting depending on the effect you want, and the Langham range comes with LED lighting as standard across its slim, standard and wide designs.
Elsewhere the finishes follow the wider furniture collection, so a display cabinet will usually coordinate with a matching sideboard or cupboard from the same range. Furniture by collection is the easiest way to see those groupings side by side.
Making the most of a corner or a narrow wall
Awkward spaces are often where a display cabinet does its best work. A corner design, like Hamilton's, turns a dead corner into the most interesting part of the room, and slim cabinets such as Langham's suit a narrow stretch of wall between a doorway and a window where nothing else quite fits.
Height is worth thinking about as well. Tall cabinets draw the eye upwards and make a room feel taller, while lower, wider designs give you a surface on top for lamps and framed pictures.
