Finding the right shape and size
Shape does a lot of the work in a dining room. Round tables feel sociable and ease the flow in a compact space, rectangular designs seat the most and suit longer rooms, and square tables are ideal for intimate, four-seat settings. As a general guide, allow around 60cm of table width per diner and roughly a metre of clearance to move around comfortably.
